A possible 2 player mode?

Originally, New super mario bros was going to be incredibly 
different, the Mega goomba boss was going to be a common goomba species, you had 3 item slots instead of 1, Mario could kick, punch and 
side-jump and there was a co-op mode that was instead used in New Super Mario Bros 2.
